New Year, New High Efficiency Heating and AC System

January 30, 2013

Winter’s here and we are having the coldest January in 2 years. Look ahead to a warm and cheery new year with a fresh start on your HVAC with a brand new HVAC installation or repairs on your current equipment. Or if your new year’s resolution was to stay on top of things and ahead of the curve, why not schedule a maintenance checkup to prolong the life of your heating and cooling systems?

If you are in the market for a new HVAC, here are some considerations:

Heat Load
Your existing HVAC system may or may not be sized correctly for your home. Many factors affect what size system you should have including windows, doors, insulation, appliances, etc. Undersized and oversized systems are not efficient and comfortable for many reasons. If you like, we can do a free onsite visit and make calculations to better gauge what size system you’ll need to heat or cool your home within a given time frame.

This one is a no-brainer, but if you’re living in parts where weather fluctuates wildly or regular climate temperatures reach extremes, you may need a more powerful system to do the job of keeping your house a moderate and comfortable temperature. Remember that shopping on Google may lead to sources that talk about one-size-fits-most models, based on more average temperatures than you experience where you live, if you live in the mountains or in more humid areas. Our professionals can help you narrow it down.

Energy Consumption and Efficiency
Low energy consumption doesn’t always mean low bang for your buck, nor does a powerful output signify efficiency or heavy consumption. Our pros can break down your options for all types of HVAC units and systems, where the value lies in each, and what is most affordable and best suited to your budget and performance needs.

Get your HVAC assessed, inspected, tuned up, fixed, or replaced this month by a Mathers Mechanical HVAC specialist, and get a head start on the new year.
